Classes at Sara Wiener Consulting
Courses in Time Management, Organization, and Planning Skills for the Bend, Oregon Area
Through my classes, time can be your friend.
Are you looking for a tutor for your adolescent child who needs help in school? Are you an adult with ADHD or in a relationship with someone with ADHD? If you have a child who struggles with school work, can't get homework turned in or live with someone who is on screen and can't get off, there are teaching strategies that can improve the working memory and help young people and adults alike to develop executive function skills.
My classes are geared towards all students, from elementary to college age, and adults who want to be successful at work and in life, including relationships and parenting, but are struggling with time management, organization, and planning issues. Whether you/they're seeking to improve their classwork, prepare for college, "up their game" in sports, get a promotion at work, get along better with their spouse or boss, or they just want to have a better handle on life, my classes can make a significant difference at a critical time.
It can be frustrating being a teenager, or an adult with ADHD like symptoms, but it can also be frustrating being a parent or spouse. You wonder - why can't my child get their homework done? Why can't they get better grades? Why are they only motivated to play video games? But here's the reality: your kid isn’t lazy - and your kid definitely isn't dumb. Their brains just haven't developed yet and they need strategies to improve their performance and behaviors!
Or, for your spouse with ADHD, you wonder, why do they keep forgetting what I've asked them to do? They just don't seem to be listening to me. I feel like I'm parenting my spouse and I want to get back to being in a partnership with them. They are even lying to me to cover for what they didn't get done.
Getting your child or partner back on track is a team effort and that's where my classes come in. Through a simple and approachable process, you'll both learn strategies so your child or partner can manage their time more effectively and get things done - what we refer to as "executive functioning." As an added benefit, you will discover some great planning and organizational tips that apply to "adult living" as well. Building family systems in the home is my specialty's that's why I come to you.
Some of these hands-on strategies include the following:

Some of these hands-on strategies include the following:
- You and your child or spouse will learn how to “see” time by using analog(!) clocks and watches. (Yes. There is still a place for analog in our increasingly digital world.)
- We will work together to set up systems that work for everyone in the household.
- You and your child or spouse will learn to use various kinds of timers as a way to understand the time each task takes.
- You and your child or spouse will learn how to create daily, weekly, and monthly calendars to visually understand how to plan ahead.
- You will all have a better understanding of each other's brains and how we are all wired differently. Compassion and understanding can often be the first step to working through ADHD and Executive Function challenges with your child or spouse.

Whatever is most comfortable for you, I respect your wishes.
(If, for some reason this won't work, a Bend, Oregon library room can be reserved by the client in advance of sessions.
I'm happy to offer a free 30-minute consultation to see if we're a fit.
References are provided upon request. My cancellation policy and professional disclosure statement will be presented after your free consultation if my services are desired.
